The road to the SSL Gold Cup 2026 is getting closer, and more national teams are arriving at the SSL Center in Grandson, Switzerland, to prepare for sailing’s biggest team event. On the beautiful waters of Lake Neuchâtel, two more teams have started their training camps as they get ready for the SSL Gold Cup Grand Final, which will take place in Rio de Janeiro, Brazil, this autumn.

SSL Team Oman Back on the Water
One of the teams currently training is SSL Team Oman. The Omani sailors delivered an outstanding performance in Pattaya, winning their qualifying group and securing their place in the SSL Gold Cup Grand Final. Their teamwork, consistency, and speed made them one of the standout teams of the event.
Now, the team is back together in Grandson, making the most of the training conditions on Lake Neuchâtel and continuing to build towards the biggest competition in international team sailing.
Denmark Starts Its Gold Cup Campaign
Joining Oman at the SSL Center is SSL Team Denmark, another strong contender preparing for the Sailing World Cup in Sailing. Denmark will begin its SSL Gold Cup campaign directly in the 1/8 Round, where the team is currently scheduled to face Switzerland in the opening stage of the competition. The races are planned for 2–5 December 2026, with more teams set to complete the group.

Training in Grandson gives both teams valuable time on the SSL47 yachts, allowing sailors to fine-tune their teamwork, boat handling, and race strategies before the world’s best national sailing teams meet in Brazil.
With more teams expected to arrive in the coming weeks, the SSL Center continues to be the perfect place to prepare for the Football World Cup in Sailing.
